Friends of Queen’s Market social

On Bank Holiday Monday (May 27), The Friends of Queens Market are having a social in the Clubhouse at the Old Spotted Dog Ground. There’ll be a bar (from 4pm), food, music and good company so come and join us. They’ve regularly attended matches this season and the fans have helped the campaign by signing the petition. They’d love to talk to you and hear about your campaigns too and how we can help each other. So please accept this invitation to join them on Bank Holiday Monday, even for a short time.

The Friends of Queen Market have campaigned for more than 20 years to save the covered market from the developers. The struggle continues. The campaign is still active as the Council looks to ‘save’ the market by redeveloping it! The latest news is that the Council is ‘consulting’ the local community by offering two alternatives but both involve the demolition of the existing market.
